IMPACT OF INSTRUCTION
SUMMARY
As expressed in the Ideario, the School believes in a person-centered approach that offers accompaniment for every student in his/her learning journey. To do so, there is a formal structure which includes teachers, class tutors, psychologists, dean of students and formation instructors which can provide counselling and support. Also, each family in the school has a family counselor assigned. This person accompanies the family throughout their children school life and helps articulate interventions designed to cater for each student´s needs. Oakhill students have obtained great results in the past three years as shown in the "Pruebas Aprender" that students in 6th grade Primary and 6th year Secondary School from all around the country sit for every year. Students performing in interschool contests of Maths and Debating are obtaining very good results.
Our graduate students are being accepted in the universities of their choice and successfully advancing in their studies. Our graduates express that they have learned in school the skills they need to thrive later in life. We still need to work in providing more specific feedback to students in class. Although students declare having formative assessment in some classes, Eleot observations demonstrate that we need to work with instructional staff to extend this practice. We will be focusing on this issue in future professional development sessions. We also need to work with instructional teams in the systematic recollection and analysis of academic and program implementation data that can orient future decisions that could impact in improving students’ achievements.
